Preparing to travel

Gloves, check. Hats, check. Massive warm jacket, check. Suncream, check. Flight suit, check.

Today I’ve been mostly packing and preparing to travel down to Antarctica tomorrow.

I’ll start at BAS Cambridge on Monday, travel down to Heathrow by coach, then to Santiago via Madrid, and finally on to Punta Arenas. Then all being well, I’ll be boarding a BAS plane at Punta Arenas by Wednesday for a 4 hour flight bound for Rothera station. I may get delayed in Punta Arenas for a few days depending on Antarctic weather conditions, but apparently it’s a nice place to visit.

Multi-airport long haul flights are never too much fun, but the destination is what makes it all worthwhile.
