Evening nature walk
Oct 27, 2015
There was talk of some Adelie penguins hanging out around the point. So at 8.30pm, Anna and I headed out to investigate. In the end we saw loads of life and we didn’t return for nearly two hours.
As soon as we rounded the point, we saw the penguins.
They led us to an elephant seal too, collapsed in the snow.
It was pretty submerged and we didn’t see it move…
We spotted some birds circling the base of one of the huge icebergs too.
Anna, in her utter excitement, kept misidentifying half submerged rocks for whales, and shadows for more penguins.
